I would like to tutor in order to show young students that learning doesn't have to be torture—that there are enjoyable ways to deal with school—and that the subjects that they may be having trouble with can be easier for them to grasp than they might believe. I feel that I have a firm enough understanding to teach them these things, being a Presidential Scholar in the Honors College at USM, and having been awarded the prestigious honor of National Merit Semifinalist. I also have rigorous test taking skills, having scored a 31 on the ACT, that allow me to teach with confidence in that area.
